DR. JOHN OLAJIDE OLANIYAN AG. HOD, AGRONOMY DEPARTMENT

Dr. John Olajide Olaniyan is presently the Ag. Head, Department of agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture University of Ilorin. He holds  B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Soil Science (Ibadan). He is a member of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria, International Soil tillage Research Organization

Dr. Olaniyan worked briefly with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority before joining the Department of Agronomy , University of Ilorin in March, 1995 as an Assistant Lecturer. Presently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department. His areas of research are Soil characterization, Economy, Survey, Land Evaluation and Land management.

Dr. Olaniyan has served the Department as an Undergraduate Coordinator, Postgraduate Coordinator, as well as Farm Practical Training Coordinator. He has also served in many committee in the University including the Teak plantation, and Orchard committee as well as being a member of the University of Ilorin Plantation Board, member, Unilorin Sugar Research Institute and Chairman, University of Ilorin farming operations committee.

Dr. Olaniyan is married to Mrs. Janet Olanike Olaniyan an Assitant Director of Nursing services with Ifelodun local Government Kwara State. The marriage is blessed with the goodness.
