Prof. Olu Atteh

Olu Atteh is a Professor of Animal Nutrition at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He obtained a B.Sc (First Class Honours) in Animal Science from the University of Ibadan in 1978 and proceeded to the University of Guelph in Canada where he obtained M.Sc. and PhD. in Monogastric Nutrition in 1982 and 1985 respectively. Atteh joined the services of the University of Ilorin as a Lecturer II in 1985 and rose to the rank of a Professor in 1993. He has published widely in the area of monogastric nutrition. Atteh has won many awards based on his excellent academic works. He was a National Scholar at the University of Ibadan and was a recipient of the commonwealth Scholarship in 1980. At the University of Guelph, he distinguished himself, winning the Hubbard Farm Fellowship and the prestigious Poultry Science Research Award given by the poultry science association in recognition of the quality papers published. He has served as a livestock resource person to several Agricultural Development Projects and as consultant to many feed millers and poultry farmers the country. Atteh is a practicing poultry farmer. He delivered the 68th University of Ilorin Inaugural lecture titled “Romancing the chicken”
