Akinsola holds her first degree in Agriculture from the University of Ilorin with a Second Class (upper division). She also bagged her Masters of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management of the same institution. She is a member of Society of Medicinal Plant for Economic Development. She has published papers in reputable journals locally, nationally and internationally.
Akinsola’s research interests include the broad issues of agricultural policy locally, internationally and transnationally, with their resultant effect on poverty of farmers and its effect at the aggregate level. She also has interest on migration of workers across borders and youth involvement in agriculture. Her specific areas of interest include poverty economics, policy and development, agricultural production, gender issues and agricultural innovation studies.
