Prof. Oluyemisi Bolajoko Fawole had her first degree in Microbiology from the University of Ilorin in 1982; and her master’s and Doctorate degrees in Microbiology from the University of Ibadan in 1985 &1990 respectively.
Her career started with NSPRI in 1990, she worked briefly at Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso 1991, moved to the University of Ilorin in 1992 as a Lecturer II, and became a Professor of Soil Microbiology in 2017.
Prof. Fawole’s administrative experiences include Ag. HOD Agronomy; sub-dean, Faculty of Agric.; President Unilorin Pacesetter’s cooperatives; Assistant Director Center for International Education (CIE); and Chairperson, Unilorin Guest Houses Management Board.
She was a member of the Ekiti State Economic Development Council, a Fellow of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD); the current National President of the Nigerian chapter of AWARD (NiWARD), and a member Academic Advisory Council, NIPSS, Kuru. Prof. Fawole belongs to the Soil Science Society of Nigeria, the American Society for Microbiology, and many other professional bodies.
